The Munchkin Cat Breed

Munchkin Cats

The Munchkin breed of cat carry a gene that makes them short legged.
They are derived from a short legged cat in Louisiana in 1983.

A  litter of Munchkin kittens will generally have both long legged and short legged kittens.
That is because some of the kittens are born with the Munchkin gene and some are not.
The long legged kittens are referred to as Non Standard.

Munchkin cats are known for their playfulness.
